Riverside Health Care is now reporting four patients at LaVerendrye Hospital having tested positive for COVID-19.
Riverside put visitor restrictions in place on the weekend after one patient tested positive.
They include only visitors or caregivers permitted for palliative, critically ill, obstetric, pediatric, and emergency patients.
Only one person is permitted at any one time, while palliative patients may have two at a time.
All inpatients are being regularly tested for COVID-19. Riverside
The hospital was previously testing staff twice a week.
Staff working in the so-called “COVID-19 Outbreak zone” are also now required to wear N95 masks as part of ongoing efforts to spread further spread.
Officials note the increase in COVID-19 infections across the district due to the highly-transmissible Omicron variant, which has had an impact on hospital staff.
