RIDE stop leads to weapons charges

A 21-year-old man from Devlin is facing weapons charges.

The man was a passenger of a vehicle that was stopped during a RIDE check in Alberton township just before midnight Thursday.

OPP officers found him in possession of imitation brass knuckles and an imitation handgun.

It was later discovered that he had outstanding weapons charges and was wanted on two warrants.

The man was taken into custody pending an appearance in court on Friday.

Police also found open liquor and cannabis in the vehicle.

The driver was issued an offence notice for having the cannabis readily available.
