A former mayor of Fort Frances has died.
Dan Onichuk passed away Sunday morning while in hospital.
Family members confirmed his passing on social media.
Onichuk served as mayor between 2003 and 2006, losing in a bid for re-election that year to Roy Avis.
He made another run for mayor in 2014.
Funeral arrangements are still pending.
