City Tax Heads To Next Committee

A massive omnibus tax bill, which includes a request by the city of International Falls to create its own city sale tax, is off to the next legislative committee.

Minnesota’s House Taxes Committee approved the 345-page document yesterday to be forwarded onto the House Ways and Means Committee.

That committee will discuss the bill tomorrow.

The Taxes Committee give support to the City’s sale tax proposal.

It did add a stipulation that International Falls identify projects where the revenue collected will go towards.

The one per cent tax would be applied to good now subject to Minnesota’s sale tax.
