It appears most families are taking advantage of a child benefit program offered up by the federal government.
Figures released by Revenue Canada show over 82-hundred families in the Thunder Bay-Rainy River riding received a combined $56-million during the 2017-18 tax year.
About a third of that money went to families with two children.
The federal government increased the benefit in July.
