AFN Disappointed, Not Surprised By Government Announcement

There is disappointment from Indigenous leaders following the federal government’s admission it won’t lift all long-term drinking water advisories by next March.

Assembly of First Nation National Chief Perry Bellegarde says First Nations are frustrated but not surprised.

He is hopeful the communities water issues will be corrected.

According to the AFN, there are 59 long-term advisories in place, 75 per cent of them impacting Ontario communities.
