An island fire on Lake of the Woods adding to this year’s forest fire totals in northwestern Ontario.
The blaze was identified yesterday on the island near Splitrock Island which is located about 60 kilometres south of Kenora.
It’s now out.
Twenty-eight others are still burning but causing no issues for Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry fire crews.
