Local Sports Report For Monday, July 15

Area motocross racers competed in Brookston, Minnesota yesterday.

Landon Flinders was second in two separate 85 cc divisions.

Joel Brigham placed third in the Supermini 12 to 15 age division.

Kelyn Vos of Atikokan was 5th in the 250 cc class.

Kali Tessier was 10th in the 65 cc 7 to 11 division and 5th in the 65 cc 10-11 group.

Dylan Tessier was 8th in the Schoolboy 12 to 16 class.

 

No racing at Emo Speedway this weekend because of too much water from last week’s rain still on the track.

That allowed area racers to compete elsewhere.

Dayton Brady scored a win in the mid-west modified feature at Lake of the Woods Speedway in Kenora Friday.

Cody Ossachuk was 2nd.

Ritchie Lapointe failed to finish and was placed 10th.

Brody Strachan was 6th in the modified feature at River Cities Speedway in Grand Rapids, North Dakota on Friday and 18th in the feature at Greenbush on Saturday.

Gavin Paull was 11th in a modified B-feature at Greenbush.

Brandon Pelepetz was 8th in a second B-feature.

Jake Froemke of International Falls was 9th in the street stock feature at Rice Lake on Saturday and 4th in the feature at I-94 Speedway in Princeton.

Brady Caul was 15th in the modified feature at Viking Speedway in Alexandria.

He also competed at I-94 Speedway Friday but failed to finish the feature and scored 10th.

James Lambert scored a 5th place finish Saturday in the mid-west mod feature at Greenbush.

 

Falls Legion Post 66 baseball team went 2-2 in tournament play in Ely, capped with a 9-0 shutout of Proctor in their final game yesterday.

The Legion team open with losses to Hermantown and Esko before winning their final two again Proctor and Cloquet in an 11-10 decision on Saturday.
