Schools will be closed when students end their winter break on January 4.
The province says remote learning for all elementary and high school students will then kick-in.
For students in northwestern Ontario, they will be allowed to return to their classrooms and schools in -person on January 11.
For most of Ontario, virtual learning will continue until January 25.
Child care centres will remain open, as will home-based child care services.
