Northwest Innovation Center Brings Back Its Co-Starter Program

The Northwest Innovation Center wants to find four of the best innovative business ideas in the region.

Corey Jones from the Innovation Center says this is the second year they have offered the co-starter contest.

“Anyone in the Kenora and Rainy River Districts is eligible to apply,” explains Jones.

“So it will be district-wide and this year it will be a little easier for people across the district to participate because it will be virtual. So we hope we get some good applications from the entire region.”

Each winner will get 15 thousand dollars as well as some mentoring help.

“This is our second year we are running the program,” says Jones. “Unfortunately with everything going on with the COVID-19 health crisis, we’ve moved everything to virtual this year. Sort of a different look but kind of the same program overall.

The deadline to apply is December 14th, with the winners to be announced sometime early in the new year.
