I did a live on location remote at the final day of The 2019 I Falls Bass Championship from Smokey Bear Park

It was actually my first time at the tournament just across the border and I had a great time!

Not only did I bring you some of the weigh-in results but I also chatted with some of the amazing board members and volunteers on the air as well.
I’d like to thank Nancy Peterson for not only asking my to help judge this year’s “Casting Call” singing competition earlier in the tournament, but she also helped to set me up with a comfy spot in the “VIP Livewell Lounge” making the broadcasting part of my day SO much easier! Nancy was also seeing to the anglers needs during the championship!

A big thank you to Mike Klaphake, who oversaw everything involving the tournament sponsors, for going on the air to talk with me!
Matt Buller, who organized all of the vendors and crafters who were on display around the park, yakked with me as well. Thanks Matt!
Thank you also to Rhonda Johnson. She was the only volunteer at the raffle & beer ticket table who was brave enough to do a cut in with me for our remote!
Gary Potter, who is the President of The IFBC, was kind enough to speak with me on the air as well.

I’m glad that I caught Gary early on in the day because he also emceed the weigh ins too! Well done Gary…I hope you get a chance to rest your voice now.
There was so much to see and do. I loved checking out the Classic Car Show and sampling battered cheese curds!

The tent was packed as the weigh-ins went on from late afternoon and into the evening!
Only one team could finish in first place though…
Congrats to Bill Godin from Devlin and Leroy Wilson from International Falls!
They are the winners of The 2019 International Falls Bass Championship!
They bested 60 other teams from both sides of the border with a two day total of 39.69 pounds!
My day in International Falls at their big fishing tournament kicked bass…sorry…I just had to.
