Winters Roads To Open By Mid-January

Ontario will spend over $5.8 million on this year’s winter roads network

The money will be used by 31 remote First Nations to construct the roads linking to provincial highways or connecting with each other.

More than 31-hundred kilometres of temporary roads will be constructed.

Northern Development Minister Greg Rickford says those roads an economic lifeline for communities to bring goods in at a more affordable cost.

The roads are expected to be open by mid-January, weather permitting and remain in place until the spring thaw.
