The Turtle Portage Marine Railway will be closed for the next two days (August 1st and 2nd).
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says they are making adjustments to improve the mechanical system.
The Turtle Bay Portage is a 400-foot shortcut for users to move their boats between Whitefish Bay and Sabaskong Bay on Lake of the Woods.
During this time, boaters wishing to access the lake opposite the portage are advised to use local boat launches.
