Fort Frances town council begins the task of sifting through the budget numbers for 2021.
They are gathering for a special virtual meeting today.
Councillors have seen some of the numbers at various committee meetings held last month.
Early numbers suggest a shortfall of about $230-thousand.
That would mean an increase in the tax levy of $2.17.
The capital side has more than $13.6 million in proposed spending.
Some of the work includes a continuance of projects started but not completed in 2020.
It includes a planned upgrade of Kings Highway between Pit Roads Number 1 and 2 and further work at the Erin Crescent Subdivision.
If all of the capital items are accepted, more the $6 million of the cost would be covered from the town’s reserve funds. The rest would come from various government grants.
