Threatening Note Found In Attawapiskat Arena

The Nishnawbe Aski Police Service say they are investigating a threat received this past weekend on the Attawapiskat First Nation.

During the playoffs of a hockey tournament an arena attendant found a folded up note with the message “Shooting Up Arena 7pm”.

Five NAPS police officers were dispatched bearing rifles, to ensure the safety of the people attending the tournament.

Fortunately, police say the rest of the tournament was played without incident.

A copy of the note can be seen below.
