The Teddy Bear Picnic is back at the Fort Frances Library Technology Centre.
It will go tomorrow from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
The Library’s Miss Sam says they have a lot of activities lined up.
“We’re so excited we can finally bring back the Teddy Bear Picnic. We hope to have a good crowd. I think it’s going to be lots of fun. We’ve got so many fun things lined up. We’ve got bouncy castles. We have Spry Farm bringing their petting zoo this year. We’ll have face painting, art, games, and music. Just anything you can think of, you’ll probably find it at the Teddy Bear Picnic,” says Miss Sam.
Several other community organizations will also be joining in on the fun.
“The museum is going to be setting up a place where people can dig for teddy bears. We will have the health unit doing bubbles and some water games. We’ll have the EarlyOn centre and Community Living Fort Frances doing things like bear paws and bear ears. We’ll have Seven Generations Education Institute doing a photo booth. We’re very lucky to have the MNR Youth Rangers who will be volunteering this year, too,” says Miss Sam.
The event is supported by New Gold, Tbaytel, Safeway and the Friends of the Library, helping to keep ticket prices affordable.
They are just five dollars a person with children under two getting in free.
You can pick them up in advance at the Library.
You can also grab a hot dog and a drink for two dollars when at the Teddy Bear Picnic. You are permitted to bring your own lunch if you prefer.
But don’t forget your teddy bear or another favourite stuffy.
“There’ll be lots of things for Teddy to do there, too,” notes Miss Sam.
In the event of rain, the picnic will be moved to the Memorial Sports Centre.
