Some People Facing Potential Jail Time Or Hefty Fines

A few people are not following the rules in Canada.

The federal government says eight people have been charged under the Quarantine Act for failing to isolate when told to upon arriving in Canada.

Under an emergency order, a conviction can lead to six months in jail and/or $750-thousand in fines.

There have also been 185 verbal and 20 written warnings issued.

Another 130 tickets for similar offences have been laid by law enforcement, which brings lesser fines ranging from $275 and $1,000.
