Snowmobile accident near Ash River

One person was hurt following a snowmobile accident south of International Falls.

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s office says the snowmobiler was among a convoy travelling the Voyageurs trail near Ash River Saturday afternoon.

As he rounded a corner, his machine struck a rock, throwing the driver to the ground.

Other snowmobilers transported the 63-year-man from Burnsville, Minnesota, to Ash River Resort, where he was airlifted to hospital in Duluth for treatment.

Kabetogama First Responders and International Falls Ambulance also assisted.
