Sidewalk To Get Constructed

A sidewalk is going in on McIrvine Road that will lead to the Fort Frances High School.

The project was first proposed in 2017 but concerns from an adjacent property owner led it to be put on hold.

The property owner has since had a change of heart and is now allowing the sidewalk. The Rainy River District School is also offering to fund the project and was hoping for it to be done this year.

But the town says with a need to properly design the sidewalk and put it out for tender, and with other projects now on the go, construction this year is not likely.

It’s being placed on next year’s capital plans instead.

(Note: A previous version of this story named Bell as the adjacent property owner. This was incorrect. CFOB-News apologizes for the error.)
