Shoeboxes Now Available For Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is back for another year.

It’s the program where you fill shoeboxes with items of necessity for children in impoverished or war-stricken countries. Things like school supplies, hygiene items, notes of encouragement and small toys are welcomed.

Local coordinator Carolyn Winik says those boxes are now available at Quetico North Outfitters located east of Atikokan on Highway 11, The Bargain Shop, Lowery’s and Bethel Baptist Church in Fort Frances, Tompkins Home Hardware, Cloverleaf Family Foods and Calvary Baptist Church in Emo and Kreger Sales and Service in Rainy River.

You return them filled with your gifts between November 18-24

Last year, 393 shoeboxes were collected from the Rainy River district.
