Second outbreak declared at Rainy River Health Centre

Stomach illnesses continue to hit the district’s healthcare facilities.

Riverside Health Care says the latest gastro outbreak is impacting its Rainy River Health Centre’s long-term care area.

The facility is already dealing with a respiratory outbreak in the same area that was declared last week.

Measures impacting visitors, masking and social activities have been extended.

Residents are restricted to having no more than two visitors or caregivers in their room at any one time.

There are also restrictions on admissions, transfers, and discharges.

Riverside asks that all visitors self-screen for illness before entering any of its facilities to prevent spread.
