The Township of Schreiber has lost its mayor.
OPP are confirming Mayor Dave Hamilton died Saturday in a crash with a tractor-trailer on Highway 17.
He was 69 years old.
Hamilton served the community for six years as a councillor and two years as mayor.
In a statement, officials with the Township say “He will be remembered for the virtues of his leadership, wisdom, kindness and hardworking resolve in ensuring the best for his community.”
They send their condolences to his family and his wife, Shirley.
