The Rainy River District School Board holds a special meeting tonight.
Trustees will go over the board’s planned spending for the next school year.
The preliminary budget is pegged to spend more than $66 million.
The budget document has not been made public, but a report from administration notes it reflects a focus on providing schools with the resources and supports necessary to reflect the board’s Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan.
Input was gathered from school councils, unions, advisory committees and student senate representatives.
Parents, staff, students and community partners were also allowed to provide input through surveys.
Budgets are usually into the Ministry of Education by now.
However, the Ministry was late issuing financial information to school boards and gave them until the end of July to have budgets in place.
The Ministry of Education announced the details of the Core Education Funding in May.
