One person is recovering after being struck by a vehicle in Fort Frances.

OPP say two people were walking across Colonization Road East toward Fifth Street East Saturday morning at around 9:30 a.m. when a man was struck.

He was taken to Laverendrye Hospital for treatment.

The vehicle itself did not stop.

Police are now looking for a red or maroon-coloured vehicle.

A 41-year-old Fort Frances man has been charged following a robbery late Sunday afternoon.

OPP say a man was confronted by staff at an unnamed Fort Frances store about unpaid merchandise when he brandished what was later identified as a picaroon.

The man fled on foot only to be captured two blocks away by police.

Richard Kabatay remains in custody pending a court appearance next week.

An Atikokan woman faces charges following an incident in that community late yesterday.

OPP say a pickup truck was stopped on Main Street after police recognized the driver being under suspension.

During the stop, the vehicle sped away.

It was later spotted at a home in Atikokan where the driver was arrested.

The 37-year-old now makes a court appearance in June.
