Flu outbreak declared over at La Verendrye

Riverside Health Care says an Influenza A outbreak that affected La Verendrye General Hospital’s first floor is now over.

The outbreak at the Fort Frances hospital was first declared in the middle of February.

Riverside says visitor and patient restrictions that were in place have been lifted.

Other safety procedures and infection prevention control measures practices followed by staff continue.

The hospital reminds the public to be diligent in preventing the spread of infection, including refraining from visiting if experiencing symptoms.
