OPSEU Renews Call For LCBO Cannabis Stores

The Ontario Public Service Employees Union is renewing calls for the LCBO to be allowed to compete for new cannabis store licences.

The union views the government’s plan to have the private sector run those stores as being a complete failure.

President Warren ‘Smokey’ Thomas says there are still too few stores and some have been falling prey to organized crime.

Thomas says retrofitting existing LCBO outlets to accommodate cannabis sales could happen very quickly.
