The OPP in Rainy River and Fort Frances have charged four men with impaired driving following separate incidents earlier this month.
On February 7th, officers from Fort Frances arrested both 22-year-old Richard Maki and 38-year-old Stephen Baker almost 15 hours apart for driving while impaired and placed them in a 12-step evaluation program. Both Maki and Baker didn’t do well in that program, which led to the charges being laid against them.
Maki faces on a charge, driving while impaired, while Baker faces both impaired driving and possession of a schedule one controlled substance.
52-year-old Eugene Gustafson of Rainy River faces multiple impaired driving charges following a roadside traffic stop on February 15th, while 57-year-old Ronald Chapman faces three charges after he was pulled over on February 18th.
Chapman, who hails from Fort Frances, faces one charge of impaired driving, one of driving while having his license suspended, and one of driving without insurance.
Provincial Police released the information on all of the charges early Wednesday morning.
