Ont. Cases Spike Over 400

The province is confirming a big jump in COVID-19 cases, with 432 new positive tests.

That’s the third day in a row with more than 300 cases, and the highest count since late June.

Ontario’s rate of new cases had been dropping since then, but the seven-day average has been increasing again since late July.

This brings the average daily case count to 261, compared to 189 last Sunday.

There are now 2,242 active cases of COVID-19 across the province.

Health Minister Christine Elliott is tweeting the province has now administered 19,872,210 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, including 46,970 doses yesterday.
