Ont. Adds 166 Cases, 150 With Delta Variant

Case counts are relatively low across Ontario, adding up to 166 new COVID-19 infections.

However, further testing of cases has also identified 150 more patients with the contagious Delta variant.

Delta accounts for 2,707 variant cases.

Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore said this past week that the spread of Delta “keeps [him] up at night.”

As of Sunday, 67.92 per cent of Ontarians have had at least one vaccine dose.

The province will be entering Stage 3 of reopening this Friday which will still include mandatory masking.

In Saskatchewan, that province has now lifted all COVID-19 restrictions.
