Police in northwestern Ontario are warning residents to not pick up any hitchhikers along Highway 17.
The OPP received reports of aggressive hitchhikers near Whitehead Road earlier this afternoon. One individual has been taken into custody at this point.
Officers are still searching for one individual believed to be in a surrounding wooded area, and is described as being a male with light skin wearing a peach/yellow shirt, a yellow/peach baseball cap and white running shoes with possible dark soles.
The public is asked to report any suspicious activity to police immediately at 1-888-310-1122 or 911 in emergency situations.
