Some new equipment for the provincial police at the Rainy River Detachment.
All patrol vehicles now have Automated Licence Plate Recognition and In-Car-Camera systems.
One of the uses of the tech will be to gather enhanced evidence to be used in the prosecution of offences.
It will also enhance officers’ ability to detect licence plates that are linked with criminal or traffic offences.
The provincial police are in the process of getting this tech implemented at all detachments across the province.
