NDP Leader Visits Northwestern Ontario

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh is promising if the NDP are elected and form the next federal government, they will create a Canadian content policy.

Singh was in Thunder Bay Tuesday where he met with soon to be laid off workers at the local Bombardier plant.

“We would change procurement rules to require made in Canada content. This is something that would meaningfully protect jobs in Canada, and we know that various jurisdictions around the world are already doing this. We need to keep up with the times,” says Singh.

The NDP leader feels the current federal and provincial governments have been pointing fingers instead of finding work for the local Bombardier plant.

He is in Kenora today.
