Muskies Hockey Teams Win Three Times

It was a marathon day Tuesday to end the regular season in high school hockey.

The Dryden Eagles and Fort Frances Muskies faced off in a twin-bill in Girls play, with both games going the distance.

The Muskies took game one with a come from behind 2-1 win thanks to a Jill Calder goal with six seconds left in overtime.

The Eagles bounced back in the second contest and rallied from a two-goal deficit to once again force extra time.

Brynn Montgomery was outstanding stopping 11 shots in the five minute overtime and the game went to a shootout.

The Muskies would score the lone goal to record a 3-2 victory.

In Boys play, Fort Frances stormed out of the gate with three quick goals and went on to a 6-2 win over Dryden.

In Kenora, the Sioux North Warriors dropped their last two games of the season.

The Girls fell to the Beaver Brae Broncos 5-4 in overtime, while the Sioux North Boys lost 5-2.
