Muskies earn sweep in Minnesota

Courtney McCoy scored three times to pace the Fort Frances Muskies girls’ hockey team to a 9-1 win over the Morris/Benson Area Storm on Saturday to complete a weekend sweep.

The Muskies scored nine straight times before giving up their only goal of the game late in the third period.

Sayler Easton added a pair of goals, with Hayden Allam, Jerzi Calder, Keira Fairington, and Avery Sinclair also finding the Storm’s net.

Calder also chipped in three assists for a four-point night.

The Muskies outshot their opponents 35-10, with Madison Bliss earning the win in net.

On Friday night, the Muskies blanked the Storm 4-0.

Allam, McCoy, Ella Evans and Sienna Tom provided the scoring.

Bliss stopped all 17 shots for the shutout.

The Muskies’ next action will be this Tuesday when they host the International Falls Broncos.
