More Teacher Job Action This Week

Another union is launching job action this week.

The union representing Ontario’s French-language teachers has issued a strike notice for Thursday.

That means French language schools in Dryden, Red Lake, Ignace, Thunder Bay, Gerald, Longlac, Marathon and Terrace Bay will be closed that day.

Meantime, all elementary and High Schools in the Keewatin-Patricia School District will be shuttered on Friday.

The Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation has announced members will participating in a one-day, full withdrawal of services affecting all schools.

Childcare’s and EarlyON Centres in the elementary schools will remain open, but before and after school programming as well as teachers aids will not be available.

Adult Education sites in Dryden, Sioux Lookout and Kenora will also be closed to students.

Last Friday, all teachers unions across Ontario held a provincial one-day walkout, including here in Fort Frances.
