More Funding Proposed

More funding is proposed for several infrastructure projects in the Rainy River District.

The replacement of Kehl Bridge in Alberton township, an upgrade to a section of Colonization Road West in Fort Frances, and the replacement of a culvert on Colonization Road in Dawson township are among those recommendation by the provincial government for a federal match under the under the Rural and Northern and Public Transit infrastructure component of the Canadian Infrastructure Program.

All three projects received funding under a different component to the CIP program earlier this year.

Also being nominated by the provincial government are Atikokan for a road resurfacing and curbing project, a culvert project on Off Road within Chapple township, and Rainy River First Nation for a culvert replacement project.
