A trip to Minneapolis will cost you some extra money in October.
An existing lodging tax is increasing to 3 per cent from its current rate of 2.1 per cent.
The tax applies to hotels and motels with 50 or more rooms.
The tax is in addition to other state and city taxes that are also applied.
The Town of Fort Frances implemented a similar tax known as Municipal Accommodation Tax at the beginning of this year.
It’s rate is 4 per cent.
