Mineral Exploration Resumes near Mine Centre

Exploration has resumed at a historic gold mine in the Mine Centre area.

Q-Gold Resources kicked off its 2022 work program earlier last month with a LiDAR survey that uses rapid light pulses to map the area.

The company says the survey, along with an upcoming geochemical survey and previous work, will help identify a targeted diamond drill property in the Foley Mine area.

“We are excited to announce that Q Gold has re-embarked on active exploration in 2022, commencing with a LIDAR survey over its prospective Mine Centre properties,” commented Dr. Andreas Rompel, Chief Executive Officer of Q-Gold. “The recent survey is only the beginning and will be followed-up with soil sampling on the lesser explored parts and diamond drilling, extending the knowledge gained during last year’s campaign.”

The Foley mine was developed in the 1890s but ended operations in 1927 due to the onset of the Great Depression.
