A Fort Frances Councillor says they came away happy after meeting with the Health Minister on the doctor situation in the area.
Fort Frances council spoke virtually with Christine Elliott on Tuesday during the Rural Ontario Municipal Association Conference.
Wendy Brunetta says Elliott was very receptive and indicated her Ministry would look into a request to expand locum stipends and travel honorariums.
Elliott also assured the group there were no plans to make any reductions to existing funding sources.
“Overall, we were very happy with our visit with her and look forward to any assistance they can provide with regard to Physician Recruitment and Retention in our District,” writes Brunetta in an email to 93.1 The Border’s newsroom.
