Man Arrested In Incident with Police

An attempt to disarm police of their weapons has landed a Fort Frances man in jail.

The incident happened last Friday in Fort Frances.

OPP say officers were attempting to arrest a 33-year-old on a probation violation at the time.

The man was eventually placed in custody.

He faces several charges, including two counts of assault, uttering threats and disarming police.

He is currently held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for tomorrow.
