Lost Visitor Found Safe

GPS coordinates helped searchers locate a lost Minneapolis woman in Voyageurs National Park on the weekend.

The 64-year-old left the Kettle Falls Hotel Saturday at around 3 p.m. and was walking along a snowmobile trail when she got lost.

The woman was able to call St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office who pinpointed her location through her cellphone.

Park staff were eventually able to reach the woman and escort her back to the Hotel uninjured.
