Liberal Leadership Candidate Woes NW Party Faithful

Ontario Liberal leadership candidate Michael Coteau making a visit to northwestern Ontario.

He was in Thunder Bay where he spoke to the region’s Liberal supporters as well as hold in various private meetings yesterday. The Don Valley East MPP served in the cabinet of the Wynne government from 2013 to 2018.

Coteau unveiled an environmental plan during his trip and suggests his plan would help the north in a number of ways.

“I think we need to look for ways to find opportunities within this challenge and one of the ways is to build new industry, invest in the green tech sector. That’s something that could improve many parts of Ontario including the north,” says Coteau.

Liberals will replace Kathleen Wynne as their leader in the spring of 2020.

Candidates declared so far include Coteau, Steven Del Duca, Kate Graham, Mitzie Hunter and Alvin Tedjo.

They’ll face each other in a series of debates starting later this month in Toronto.
