Lake Now Below 2014 Mark

Another milestone to the drop of Rainy Lake.

Data from the federal Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources shows the water level is now below the 2014 high-water mark.

The lake has now fallen almost 50 centimetres since peaking in mid-June.

It is expected to fall another 30 centimetres by Monday.

Lake of the Woods is also starting to fall.

It’s dropped one centimetre in the past week.

The Lake of the Woods Control Board expects the lake to fall another 2-3 cm by next week.
