Lake Level Close to 2014 High-Water Mark

A huge drop in Rainy Lake is expected over the next week.

The latest update suggests the lake could fall 30 to 36 centimetres over the next seven days.

Flows across the headwaters have fallen to normal levels.

The Fort Frances area did receive 11.5 millimetres of rain from storms yesterday, and more rain is in the forecast for the weekend, but it should not have much of an impact on the lake coming down.

Rainy Lake is still about 8 centimetres above its 2014 high-water mark and may not return to a more normal level until mid-August.
