Jail To Get New Scanner

The jail in Fort Frances is being installed with a new ion scanner.

It is designed to detect and identify trace elements of drugs, stopping illegal substances from entering the facility.

The Fort Frances jail is one of the last in Ontario to get the scanner.

A spokesperson with the Ministry of the Solicitor General tells 93.1 The Border staff training is underway with the scanner to be fully operational by this fall.
