Investigation Focuses On a Corroded Wing Strut

The Transportation Safety Board is continuing to investigate a fatal plane crash north of Kenora that occurred this past spring.

The Piper J3C-65 crashed on March 30 while en route from Pistol Lake to Snowshoe Lake, killing the pilot and a lone passenger.

The TBS says it’s focussing its attention on a wing strut assembly that was badly corroded.

The strut was the subject of an Airworthiness Directive in the United States four years ago.
