Hydro Rates to Lower in November

You can expect to see some changes to your hydro bill in November.

The Ontario Energy Board has set new rates Time-of-Use rates.

The off-peak rate, charged from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on weekdays and all hours on weekends and holidays, will go from 8.4 cents per kilowatt hour to 7.2 cents/kwhr.

The mid-peak rate, charged during the weekday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., drops from 11.3 cents/kwhr to 10.2 cents/kwhr.

The higher on-peak rate, charged on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., will fall to 15.1 cents/kwhr from 17 cents/kwhr.

Customers on tiered pricing will also see reductions.

Also effective November 1, the Ontario government’s Ontario Electricity Rebate will be changed to 11.7%. It is currently at 17 per cent.
