A hunter from Heart is paying dearly for shooting at a fake deer.
He’s been fined $6-thousand and handed a six-year suspension from hunting after pleading guilty to charges of careless use of a firearm and discharging a firearm from a vehicle.
Court was told the hunter was seen by Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry conservation officers last October stopping on a well-travelled forestry road near Nestor Falls where he got out and shot at the white-tailed decoy.
He was ordered to complete a hunting training course once his suspension end before he can hunt again.
