Health Unit Warns Of Blue-Green Algae

Beware of blue-green algae. That’s the message from the Northwestern Health Unit.

Blue-green algae has been spotted it some area lakes and can be very toxic.

With a warning of water on lakes, the Health Unit says there is the risk of further blue-green algae blooms.

The Ministry of Environment has confirmed the presence of the algae at one lake in the Kenora area.

Officials are now in the process of confirming whether it is toxic or not.
