Great Northern Ontario Roadshow Coming To Fort Frances

The Great Northern Ontario Roadshow is coming to Fort Frances.

The event aims to allow area businesses and organizations most affected by the pandemic to showcase themselves to the public.

Science North is spearheading the event and working with the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce to bring it to Fort Frances.

The Chamber’s Executive Director Heather Johnson says it will take place August 27 and 28 at the Fort Frances Curling Club.

“Science North will be there. They will be providing demonstrations. As well as we are looking to have 40 booths to be able to display their wares, to get them back out into the community and let people come and see what they have to offer,” says Johnson.

There is no cost to businesses and organizations to participate.

Funding from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation and FedNor is covering the cost.

Johnson says anyone wanting a booth can contact her at the Chamber office by phone or email.

There will also be a coffee house for area musicians to perform.

“To get some of our local entertainers that haven’t been able to have coffee houses or haven’t been able to be out entertaining. They can book in a half-hour space.”

Science North will also be on hand with various demonstrations.

Fort Frances will be the kick-off to the roadshow that also takes place in other communities in northern Ontario this fall.
